The Australian Wilderness Training Centre Schools and Education Programs are designed in consultation with the school. The programs are based on a guided learning experience utilising survival, bushcraft and environmental awareness training aimed at personal development for each student whilst complementing and reinforcing the school’s curriculum and philosophy.The objectives are to provide a learning environment which: Improves confidence, self esteem and develops maturity Encourages teamwork and effective communication Develops an ability to operate safely in outdoor situations Develops an awareness of survival and rescue requirements which will be effective for life Introduces students to improvisation and bushcraft skills which are eroding in modern society Assists in the capacity to adapt to the environment and reinforces the will to survive and succeed Reinforces established educational programs  Australian Wilderness Training Centre courses are specifically designed to bring out the best in students by getting back to basics.
Survival in the bush is all about adapting to the environment, improvisation, using your wits and above all, being tenacious -
we call this ’the will to live’. Surviving and prospering in life is no different.
Students have a more positive approach to learning and increased self confidence.
Practical life skills that enhance personal and group initiative develop greater maturity,
increase competence in overcoming difficulties and a willingness to attempt new and challenging tasks.

Half day to 7 days 
The Australian Wilderness Training Centre is a unique and innovative concept in personal learning. Nestled in the shadow of the World Heritage Listed Main Range National Park, South East Queensland, the centre can accommodate up to 92 students in bunk and regular beds and cater for up to 100 meals. The Centre is Australia’s only purpose designed facility aimed at educating students in traditional survival and bushcraft skills. Theory and practical training facilities are available for small and large groups. Teachers, parents and other interested support staff are encouraged to share the unique training experiences offered by the Australian Wilderness Training Centre.
