The Australian Wilderness Training Centre Schools and Education Programs are designed in consultation with the school. The programs are based on a guided learning experience utilising survival, bushcraft and environmental awareness training aimed at personal development for each student whilst complementing and reinforcing the school’s curriculum and philosophy. The objectives are to provide a learning environment which:
Improves confidence, self esteem and develops maturity
Encourages teamwork and effective communication
Develops an ability to operate safely in outdoor situations
Develops an awareness of survival and rescue requirements which will be effective for life
Introduces students to improvisation and bushcraft skills which are eroding in modern society
Assists in the capacity to adapt to the environment and reinforces the will to survive and succeed
Reinforces established educational programs

Australian Wilderness Training Centre courses are specifically designed to bring out the best in students by getting back to basics.
Survival in the bush is all about adapting to the environment, improvisation, using your wits and above all, being tenacious - we call this ’the will to live’. Surviving and prospering in life is no different.
Students have a more positive approach to learning and increased self confidence.
Practical life skills that enhance personal and group initiative develop greater maturity, increase competence in overcoming difficulties and a willingness to attempt new and challenging tasks.
